A fantastic journey that is unforgettable to every sense you have.
It can be abit overwhelming on day one. As marrakech is a labyrinth of markets and alleys etc. The noise, hustle of market folk, smells and colours attack you in every corner in a mysterious way. Just read your body, and take plenty of breaks for fluids and dont feel that saying "no" is rude. The hustle is part of the day to day live of the retailers.
Do your homework on prices as most items can be found for under 100 dhm in local currency. So dont rush into making purchases.
Remember though to tip alittle. For you a dollar/euro etc is nothing to you but for these people is it. So don't haggle on silly small items but do know the price and add a mini tip as a token of good wishes. As you will find many of the same items in one medina to another.
Do avoid the big tourist diners. As you will get a nice roof top view. But will pay a premium. Go to the medina street food alley where you will pay 60 durum for a meal for two people rather than 160+. Better food and if the locals are eating the produce it local and authentic.
Know somw basic words to greet, hello and no and thanks yous. A few basics greeting go along way for the locals.
Advise to plan your trips in advance from get a guide as local vendors can be abit less reliable.
There are horror stories of not feeling safe and pickpocketing but not once did i feel unsafe. The people are cool andno request is too big.
Enjoy

The highlight is experiencing the life and bustle of the Medina. Overall an excellent experience and we felt safe walking around. People are generally friendly and most can speak some English
Be aware that people recommending a berber market which 'today is the last day' are trying to lure you to their own shop or cooperative where you may be pressured to buy especially if it's in the tannery area.
So be aware of this before you agree to follow someone's directions

I love Marrakesh as a destination, there are so many sides to the city, and now on my fourth trip I feel like I am still getting to know it. The medina / old town is just one part ot the city to explore so make sure (if you have time) to also check out other parts of the city, the new town, L'Hivernage / Gueliz, there are so many beautiful, peaceful places for a chill pool day about 15 - 20 mins outside the centre.

I love the hustle and bustle of Marrakech.
I love the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. It’s both raw and sophisticated, depending on where you are. So many fabulous restaurants and especially roof top bars. The souk is fun to see and get ready to bargain but it does get quite annoying to be constantly hassled to buy something. The carpet sellers are not funny to deal with. My advice is don’t start a conversation unless you are serious about buying. History, architecture are stunning . Easy to walk around. Recommend a guide to show you around. Favourite restaurant was le jardin du lotus, totally hip restaurant with great DJ. Best lunch roof top place was el Fenn

Marrakech is not for everyone!
Marrakech is not for everyone! It is an assault on your nose, hearing and sight. Thousands of people use the souk everyday, as customers and sellers and if you a bit claustrophobic, this might not be the place for you. Crossing the road is a clash of personalities, yours and the drivers. However, it is a city like no other and if you love history and cultures, this is the place where to appreciate North Africa and Muslim culture (Music, art, crafts, fashion, etc etc). I have been coming here again and again, and I believe that Marrakech is the best place to get a taste of a complete exotic culture just round the corner from Europe.
the place is absolutely beautiful, like an oasis in the busy market. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. it was amazing to chill in the pool in the warm afternoon or relax at the rooftop at nights. above all, is how the Riad is managed and the staff, make you feel you are in with dear friends always with a smile no matter what. you will not find the level of service in any other top 5 star hotels. the team really goes out of their way to make you happy. so glad we got the chance to spend 3 days in this wonderful place.
Riad Nesma is it a perfect location with only a five minute walk to the big square in the Medina and a one minute walk to catch a taxi if you want to go anywhere else. The staff are exceptional, and always willing to help or accommodate you. There is a wonderful, small, swimming pool, and a Jacuzzi on the roof and the views are incredible. The breakfast is excellent and very fresh and good. When I return to Morocco and to Marrakesh I will definitely be staying here again I highly recommend it.
Lovely staff, very kind and helpful. We stayed for two nights at the end of one month in Morocco. We just chilled and didn’t leave the premises. It is in an agricultural area with no traffic noise. The hotel chef is very friendly and accommodating.
The location was good for us as a retreat before flying home. It might be inconvenient for sightseeing, as there are no other restaurants or tourist activities or destinations within walking distance. The pool and grounds are .great
One the best hotel in Marrakech the location, service, breakfast and staff all are 5 stars i had to print my boarding pass and they helped me to print out as well.
All shops and restaurants are just nearby and Marrakech Train Station is Just 5 minutes walk.
The hotel is in very nice, clean and safe area which feels more comfortable to walk even in the evening and the famous market is Jemaa Lfna is just 8 minutes in taxi.
I will definitely stay again whenever i visit Marrakech.
Would 100% recommend. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast is tasty. Location is good and within walking distanvce of the medina. What makes this hotel exceptional is the staff! They were extremely welcoming and hospitable. To name but a few Mohammed, Manal and Said provided a 5 star service and we can't thank them enough for making our stay in Marakesh so comfortable. Beautiful city and beautiful people. Would not hesitate in booking again..
We have very pleasant time in the hotel during December 2023. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very hospitable, as you wouldn’t expect less from 5 start hotel like the Movenpick. I would mention the restaurant staff for the great reception and service, particularly Ms. Bahija who was very helpful everyday during breakfast times. My overall stay experience of the Movenpick hotel is Exceptional.
My mother and I LOVED our stay at Hotel Tigmiza. Our flights were cancelled from the USA to morocco so therefore we missed 2 nights of our stay. The hotel was able to accommodate us to staying an extra 2 nights on the back end and even upgraded us to a villa! We also loved the heated pool and SPA. Our stay was incredibly relaxing. We hope to be back some day!
Mr. Lahcen helped us very well and guided us well. He is very nice and helpful person. He really does his job well. It was beyond our expectations. This is definitely a hotel for families with children. Restaurant, breakfast and bar you can enjoy culinear food. pools are warm. everyone is with smile and very nice. This hotel deserves 5 star
Beautiful hotel. Staff were amazing and very helpful. Large, very comfortable rooms. Lovely big pool, lots of sunbeds with pool towels provided. Option to go all inclusive if you wanted, however could also not go all inclusive. Lovely breakfast. Short taxi ride to centre of medina. Easy to go into the centre for dinner.
The hotel was exceptionally clean. The bedding and towels were just perfect!! The staff Khalid, Zakaria and Karim are the nicest and the most helpful people. Fatim Ahra's breakfast was excellent! We will definitely recommend the Riad to anyone who wants to visit Marrakech. 5 stars!! Thank you all for a great time.
The location is great. The hotel is in the old Medina and close to main attractions. The staff were incredibly kind. We especially loved the decorations of the rooms. It gave us a unique modern Moroccon vibe. I definitely recommend staying in this hotel. It is cheap when compared to its real worth.
Great design building , absolutely value for money , restraunt is 5 star , the Brekfast is plentiful , I booked 1 night originally just to check it out before I book the rest of my 7 nights here , was the cheapest compared to other hotels in the area , undervalued worth more
The hotel is amazing, everything you may need. You are also served a very tasty breakfast in the hotel. Everyone was very helpful. The only downside is that it is very hard to find with just Google maps as it doesn’t accurately work in Marrakesh - Medina.
A beautiful resort hotel away from the hustle and bustle of marrkech city.
Stayed for 3 nights over the December Christmas week all inclusive. Excellent service and entertainment at the hotel.
Pros- very picturesque, clean and friendly.
Nice pool area.
Lovely hotel! Very family friendly and the all inclusive aspect is extremely generous. The shuttle bus to the centre was great too. The staff were incredible and really great with kids. We had a lovely time. Would highly recommend!
It is not a 5 star hotel: it has a level of a 4 star hotel. So still pretty great. It is clean and the breakfast is nice. Nice to see that the hotel is attended by the locals and not only the tourists.
The riad is not extraordinary, but very spacious rooms. Lighting could be better. It is quite dark inside. However, the service is worth of a 5 star hotel. Very friendly and polite, very helpful.
